O Lord, Give Rest Unto My Soul

(Sunday, 19th July 2026)

[Verse 1]
My weary soul cries out for peace,
Yet grief and anguish never cease,
A heavy burden crowns my head,
Too great to bear, too vast to dread.

[Chorus]
O Lord, give rest unto my soul,
And let Thy peace my wounds make whole,
Enfold me in Thy holiness,
And calm my heart with righteousness.

[Verse 2]
For Thy dear sake, I left behind,
My home, my friends, and all mankind,
A wandering orphan I became,
Bearing reproach for Thy great Name.

[Chorus]
O Lord, give rest unto my soul,
And let Thy peace my wounds make whole,
Enfold me in Thy holiness,
And calm my heart with righteousness.

[Verse 3]
Thou hast possessed my heart and breath,
Thy yoke remains through life and death,
I cannot flee Thy sovereign call,
For Thou art Lord and King of all.

[Chorus]
O Lord, give rest unto my soul,
And let Thy peace my wounds make whole,
Enfold me in Thy holiness,
And calm my heart with righteousness.

[Verse 4]
Thou hast appointed me to bear
Thy children's burdens, grief, and care,
A spring of water Thou hast made,
To strengthen souls whose strength would fade.

[Chorus]
O Lord, give rest unto my soul,
And let Thy peace my wounds make whole,
Enfold me in Thy holiness,
And calm my heart with righteousness.

[Verse 5]
Thou hast refused to let me die,
Or hide my memory where men lie,
My soul hangs between Earth and sky,
I cannot flee, nor upward fly.

[Chorus]
O Lord, give rest unto my soul,
And let Thy peace my wounds make whole,
Enfold me in Thy holiness,
And calm my heart with righteousness.

[Verse 6]
O Lord, let peace descend at last,
And heal the terrors of the past,
Let holiness possess my breast,
And in Thy righteousness give rest.

[Final Chorus]
O Lord, give rest unto my soul,
And let Thy peace my wounds make whole,
Enfold me in Thy holiness,
And calm my heart with righteousness.
