[Verse 1]
Every man may choose his pathway,
Live according to his will,
But the Christian follows Heaven,
And the Father's purpose still.
For our lives belong unto Him,
We are governed by His throne.
None who truly bears His likeness
Lives his earthly life alone.

[Chorus]
Live the life of the Father,
Walk the path His hands have made.
He will lead us home to Heaven,
If His holy will's obeyed.

[Verse 2]
Earth was made for God's own children,
Not for wickedness and sin.
But the enemy corrupted,
All the good that lay within.
Yet the Father loves His handiwork,
None should perish or be lost.
He will labour for our rescue,
Though the journey bears a cost.

[Chorus]
Live the life of the Father,
Walk the path His hands have made.
He will lead us home to Heaven,
If His holy will's obeyed.

[Verse 3]
Sometimes God may seem unyielding,
Sometimes hard His ways appear,
Yet His discipline is mercy,
Born of love both strong and clear.
For I know the plans I have for you,
Plans of hope and not of pain,
Plans to give a blessed future,
And restore your life again.

[Chorus]
Live the life of the Father,
Walk the path His hands have made.
He will lead us home to Heaven,
If His holy will's obeyed.

[Verse 4]
Choose whatever way you wish to,
Death will end the earthly race.
None possesses power to conquer,
Death's appointed time and place.
But through death, a door is opened,
Leading every soul beyond,
Blessed are those who please the Father,
Who have kept His holy bond.

[Chorus]
Live the life of the Father,
Walk the path His hands have made.
He will lead us home to Heaven,
If His holy will's obeyed.

[Verse 5]
Beloved, pause and search your spirit,
Think upon the life you live.
Turn away from every error,
Seek the grace the Lord will give.
Mend whatever must be mended,
Walk in holiness and light.
Live the life that pleases Heaven,
And your end shall be delight.

[Final Chorus]
Live the life of the Father,
Walk the path His hands have made.
He will lead us home to Heaven,
If His holy will's obeyed.
